This painting is about that continual play between both states of our self, the love and the hate.
Often while being in the quiet of our home we dance between these two states, sometimes having a hold on us and other times giving us the freedom we need.
It's often so hard to love this dance we play in ourselves, but it's a necessary one in the journey of finding 'Home' within our life.
This painting is titled after the Julia Stone song - Dance.

These artworks reflect the year we all learnt a little more about what it was like to ‘be home’
Our home should be our sanctuary, where we feel our most authentic and safe.
For me personally, having left what was the family home with my daughters and our animals and setting one foot in front of the other relocating and rebuilding our sense of home.
In these paintings, I aimed to capture my own experience of the greater sense of ‘home’
Aussie birds of our backyard, Aussie music, house plants and the warm comforting tea I consume copiously - Just a few of the things that make a home my home and just a few of the things I captured in this series of paintings.
